In what seems a strange move, MBUSU – Mercedes in the States – is dropping the SLS AMG from its range in favour of the SLS AMG GT. The 1500bhp JCB Dieselmax has passed 300mph in a test run for its diesel land speed record attempt. The sleek racer – powered by twin diesel engines each producing 750bhp – touched 308.252mph yesterday (Thursday 17 August). That smashes the current diesel car world record of 235.756mph, set in 1973.
2012 Hyundai i30 previewed ahead of Frankfurt
It’s easy to think of the Hyundai i30 as part of the new wave of Euro-centric Hyundai’s. But it’s now four years old and starting to look like ‘Old’ Hyundai, so we’re to be treated to a new Hyundai i30 at Frankfurt – destined to launch in early 2012. That said, the new i30 is not going to be a radical departure from the current i30, which has been a decent success for Hyundai.
